Part 1: WHAT IS LUNGEING
Lungeing is a method employed by trainers for schooling horses, and also to assist in developing fitness and co-ordination. Horses can be worked on the lunge either free of restraint, or with a special rein known as a "lungeing rein". It is very much a matter of personal choice which method you choose, however it is worth noting the following:
- Most trainers prefer to use the lungeing rein method
- Equicom recommends using the free-schooling method
