Section B, Part 1: REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
To lunge a horse with a lungeing rein, you will need the following items:
- cavesson
- lunge line/rein
- lunge whip
- current standard riding hat
- gloves
- distraction-free, enclosed, level area
- brushing boots, to protect from injury
The need for the work area to be circular is less than in the free-schooling method, because the rein itself will, in part, help to keep the horse working on a circle, although it does require some degree of skill to get this perfected.
